Wayfarer Association: Portsmouth Rally
A good opportunity to join in with other Mengeham Wayfarers and others like minded sailors. There will be opportunities to join in other experienced boats if you don't feel confident to make the passage in your own boat. There will be a support RIB in attendance. Camping is available for the weekend.
Organisation, aims and objectives: This is a summer Cruise, and is aimed at the level of a confident sailor. The passage is classed as a Sea passage. The alternative Plan 'B' trip in case of bad weather is within the confines of Chichester Harbour and is classed as Estuary sailing. The cruise starts and finishes from Mengeham Rythe Sailing Club, Chichester Harbour and the destination is Old Portsmouth within Portsmouth Harbour. The cruise is being organised by Chris Tyler (W28) in association with the UKWA. This is a Solent trip of 12 miles each way to Old Portsmouth. Our aims are to promote safe sea sailing suitable for the intermediate sailor. You must be confident to reef afloat and to follow a Navigation plan. Outboards are mandatory going in and out of Portsmouth harbour.
