Wayfarer Mengeham Series - Summer 2025

"Mengeham Rythe SC on Hayling Island is situated on a tidal creek that enables direct access to the sheltered waters of Chichester Harbour, and beyond into the Solent should the dinghy cruiser be so adventurous. It has been described as "the best kept secret in Chichester Harbour". It is from this base that Chris Tyler and his wife Helen (W28) planned a series of three events totalling five days on the water. Sadly the first event, a day cruise to Old Portsmouth, had to be cancelled due to high winds, although there was opportunity to join a Club harbour cruise the next day. The second more ambitious event was a cross-Solent trip to Bembridge in June but with the reassurance of safety boat cover an ideal opportunity to stretch one's capability. The final event was a three-day harbour cruise in July."
