NOTICE OF RACE

1.Organising Authority & Rules

1.1The Organising Authority is Mengeham Rythe Sailing Club Limited ("MRSC")

1.2The Regatta shall be governed by the 'rules' as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing.

2.Change in Notice of Race or Sailing Instructions

2.1A change to these Sailing Instructions or Notice of Race shall be posted on the Notice board in the clubroom one hour before the start time of the first race and signalled from the flag staff and from the committee boat flying Flag L (changing RRS signals).

3.Conditions of Entry

3.1 Competitors are required to agree to be bound by the 'rules' (RRS 4). They thereby accept that the responsibility for the decision to participate in a race or to continue racing is theirs alone (RRS 3). By entering, either in person or on-line, and racing in the regatta they agree to this condition, and specifically acknowledge that:

a) they are aware of the inherent element of risk involved in dinghy racing and accept their responsibility for the exposure of themselves and the boat to such risk and for the safety of the same whilst afloat;

b) they are responsible for the safety of themselves, their crew, their boat and their other property whether afloat or ashore;

c) they are responsible for any injury, damage or loss caused by their actions or omissions, and have valid third-party liability insurance with minimum cover of £2m;

d) their boat is maintained and equipped, and its crew competent and fit, to race in the conditions likely to be encountered;

e) the provision of a race management team and patrol boats does not relieve them of their responsibilities and that patrol boat cover is limited to such assistance, particularly in extreme weather conditions, as can be practicably provided in the circumstances.

3.2 The parent or guardian of any helm under 18 must complete an entry form before the race. By allowing a junior to enter or by entering a junior, and allowing that junior to race, the parent or guardian agrees to condition 3.1.

4.Racing Area: Racing shall take place in Chichester Harbour: Committee boat start.

4.1 Events 1-6 shall race over Pilsey Sands and Event 7 over West Mud.

5. Handicaps: local MRSC handicaps based on PY numbers shall apply in calculating results.

6. Entry fee: £12. (£9 single handed); Junior U.18 helm, or helm & crew, £8

Entries will be taken on line until 10.00 13^th July or at MRSC and HISC from 11.30.
