During half term Mengeham Rythe Sailing Club saw 40 young sailors in Teras, Toppers, Fevas and Lasers take part in the RYA ChiFed Open Training. Six clubs from around Chichester Harbour took part; Bosham SC, Emsworth SC, Emsworth Slipper SC, Chichester YC,  Hayling Island SC and Mengeham Rythe SC.

Sailors were assigned a RYA race coach, most spent 5 hours on the water each day with great sailing weather, then back to the club for a well earned meal provided by 3B’s. Teenage assistants Conway Parke and Alex Willis proved to be invaluable when some of the younger sailors needed a little extra help.  Thanks to Alexis Streeter, Charlotte Bonella, Rory Caird, Ben Paton and Head Coach Tim Hulse. The quality of the teaching was outstanding and the improvement in the sailors was seen on a daily basis. All our coaches are specialists in their own classes.

The aim of ChiFed training is to be inclusive to Harbour sailors, to learn new sailing skills and to meet sailors in the local area. Not taking part in this scheme could mean you fall behind.
