2011 Fishing Trips
Bass Fishing Trip - 13 July
On Wednesday 13th july six members went Bass fishing aboard  "Sportsmans Knight" a Langstone based fishing boat. The day started overcast with a light to moderate north east wind but soon brightened up and the wind dropped off. The boat  stopped on the way to catch a few mackerel, before heading for the overfalls, fishing with live sandeels.  A total of eight Bass were caught., the best one weighing just over three & half pounds, caught  by John.

Mackerel Trip - 11 July
The clubs July mackerel trip took place on Monday 11 Jluy ,with twelve members going afloat in three boats, feathering in the harbour entrance. After a slow start, the group managed to catch about thirty mackerel.  The next trip is September 5th.

The club's annual boat fishing trip took place on May 6th in calm seas with a light southerly breeze. Twelve members spent the day aboard Dave Chapmans catamaran, “Starfish”, out of Langstone Harbour. We were hoping to fish the Boulder Bank for the Black Bream, but due to the seaweed being a problem earlier in the week, we tried an area called Bullocks Patch.  The fishing was steady with Bream soon coming over the gunnels.  Other fish caught were Pollock, Pout, Garfish, & Mackerel.  Then the seaweed became a problem so we moved into Bracklesham Bay. Again fish were soon being caught. About eighty Bream in total were caught during the day so everyone went home with fish.  There was rum in the coffee courtesy of John during the day and Nicky Drake-Lee took the pool money for the heaviest Bream of 2lb 11oz.

I do think that having 12 on the boat was too many, so the next trip will be for 10 only, pushing the cost up to £40 per head, Anyone interested in another trip this year let me know. I am also planning a Bass trip fishing with live sand eels all included in the price of £50 per person, but only room for six. Anyone interested please call me (number in the membership book).
