About Us

FEATURES

The clubhouse has magnificent views over the harbour, and lies on a creek which gives good protection for the number of cruiser moorings owned by the club. We have two slipways for launching dinghies and tenders, and a very extensive dinghy park with room for further expansion. The creek is tidal, and launching is possible for about 2 ½ - 3 hours either side of high tide. The club jetty and pontoons enable cruisers to moor alongside for limited periods. the hard in front of the clubhouse

The club enjoys a warm, friendly atmosphere and remains a members club within the true definition. The original objectives of Mengeham Rythe Sailing Club are to provide members of moderate means with the facilities and opportunity to engage in all forms of sailing and boating; racing, cruising, fishing or social sailing. All members are expected to contribute by carrying out yearly club duties on safety boats, working parties and bar rota.

The club runs a full programme of dinghy racing and, for those not so inclined, there is both programmed and informal social sailing based around our more sedate classes of dinghy.   The cruiser section arranges a programme of rallies to destinations within the Solent and further a field.

We run formal RYA training for junior and senior members, both sailing and power boat courses, using our own RYA qualified instructors. The club runs a Junior Sailing Week during the summer with races over 5 days and entry open to the other clubs in the harbour. There is also a varied Junior programme organised through the season.

The club enjoys a full social programme, including various entertainments, dances, formal meals, and informal barbeques. The clubhouse and bar is open on Sundays, Wednesday and Friday evenings, plus Saturday evenings during the season. Members have use of their club's facilities at all times.
