| WINKLE OF THE HARBOUR -

Mengeham Rythe Sailing Club hosted the
annual “Winkle of the Harbour” open handicap race in aid
of the RNLI on 7th January 2007. The fresh
breeze, gusting force 6 on occasions, and choppy sea
conditions in Chichester Harbour were not for the faint
hearted and out of the 21 entries, which included 12 boats
from MRSC, (7 of which were Finns), 8 boats from Hayling
Island Sailing Club and 1 boat from Shoreham, only 13
boats completed the race. Before the
prizes were presented by Rachelle Allsop, the sailors were were able to warm up with mulled wine. |
