THE day started with a slightly grey
sky and not a lot of wind, but a promise of sun later. A short
course for a light easterly wind was selected by the PROs, Ken
Osbourne and Roger Houston.
After a slight delay at the start as the wind shifted 40 degrees
to the south when the PROs had to reset the start line, all
boats started well, and were closely grouped all the way to the
first mark. As the race progressed the sun came out, the wind
kicked in and a wonderful sail was enjoyed by all. The race
finished at about 13.00 and as there was now a wait of at least
4 hours before access to the creek was possible, an après sail
"recovery" and tactics discussion was instigated at East Head in
a raft up. Waiting for the tide is enjoyable with a beer and
sunshine!
To finish the day,
boat crews met up in the club house in the evening to enjoy a
"takeaway" meal and social evening.
